GUNTOWN " Daniel Gene Clardy Sr., 50, died Saturday, July 25, 2009, at his home after a long illness. He was born May 20, 1959, in Waukegan, Ill., to Carroll Eugene and Lucile Harkness Clardy. He had lived in the Saltillo-Guntown area for about 11 years. He was an employee of The McCarty Company Construction Group Inc. of Tupelo. He was a member of The Northstar Church in Saltillo. An avid conversationalist, he also loved fishing and hunting.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors. The Rev. Terry Ledbetter and the Rev. Jeff Flinn will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to service time.
Survivors are Tyra Clardy of Saltillo; Daniel Gene Clardy Jr., his wife, Fran, and their children, Lylla Clardy and Griffin Clardy, of Tupelo; Carroll Eugene Clardy and Shelby Smith of Guntown, Lucile Clardy of Guntown, Daine Harris (James) of Saltillo, Donny Clardy (Amy) of Lake-in-the-Hills, Ill., and David Clardy (Tracie) of Guntown
