DANICA GIFFORD McCORD Tupelo - Danica Gifford McCord, 46, died, alongside her daughter, at their residence on Sunday, March 25, 2013. She was born in Joliet, Illinois on March 13, 1967 to John R. and Virginia Owens Gifford. She was of the Baptist Faith. She had worked for Berkline and later Wal-Mart Distribution Center. She enjoyed working outdoors, spending time at the lake and spoiling her grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Brandon Murphree and Rev. Scott Witcher officiating. Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery. Survivors include four daughters, Mindy Lafayette (Toby) of Hernando, Brittany Scott (Mike) of Saltillo, Kayla Bass (Keith) of Saltillo and Nikki McCord of Pontotoc; five grandchildren, Cadence Scott, Levi Bass, Grayson Lafayette, Griffin Scott and Luke Bass; two sisters, Daphne Parmely and DeAnn Richey (Kevin); two brothers, Clay and Craig Gifford; her parents, John R. and Virginia Owens Gifford of Saltillo; special friends, Judy Tollison, Charles Smith and family; a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Destiny McCord; her husband, Anthony McCord, III and her grandmother, Wilma Smith. Pallbearers will be Gary Tollison, Craig Gifford, Vince Richey, Clay Gifford, Brandon Parmely and Tim Pannell. Visitation will be 2 - 8 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
