CYNTHIA LOWERY Saltillo - Cynthia Ann Lowery, 56, passed away Monday, October 6, 2013, at Baldwyn Nursing Facility after a lengthy illness. She was born December 9, 1956 at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas to Jimmy Thornton and Treacy Ann Hughes. Raised in Sallis, near Kosciusko, she graduated from Sallis High School and later attended Moorehead Junior College, where she studied to become a medical lab technician. She lived a number of years in Indianola before moving to Pontotoc and lastly, Saltillo. Cynthia worked for Boliver Medical Center in Cleveland and also served as an Emergency Medical Technician in both Ruleville and Cleveland. She was the widow of Ricky J. Lowery, Sr. who died November 27, 1997. She enjoyed fishing and was known for her tremendous sense of humor and her witty ability to make others laugh. She was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Indianola and attended Beech Springs Free Will Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held in her honor 2 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Indianola City Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include two children, Sarah J. Lowery and Ricky J. Lowery, Jr. both of Saltillo; father-in-law, Charles Lowery of Saltillo; mother-in-law, Frances Lowery of Saltillo; two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ricky J. Lowery, Sr.
