CURTIS BENJAMIN ORSBORN

Mooreville - CURTIS BENJAMIN ORSBORN, 90, died Thursday, September 28, 2006, at his residence after an extended illness. A Saltillo native, he was born February 3, 1916 to the late Oliver and Marget Johnson Orsborn. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and earned the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with one Bronze Battle Star, the American Service Medal, the American Defense Medal and two Overseas Service Bars. He was employed at International Minerals and Chemical Corporation for 34 years. He enjoyed gardening, especially his tomatoes and pecan trees. He was a member of the Fulton Church of Christ.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister Russ Crosswhite officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Martha Marcine Pearce Orsborn of Mooreville; four daughters, Judy Gilliland ( Bob), Nancy Willcutt ( Mark), and Jeannie Stanley, all of Fulton, and Penny Kelly (Donny) of Blue Springs; two sisters, Thelma Holder and Clytie Melton, both of Tupelo; six grandchildren, Casey, Justin, and Austin Kelly of Blue Springs, Savannah Willcutt, Hannah and Ben Stanley, all of Fulton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a young sister, Mindy Orsborn and one brother, Loal Orsborn.

Pallbearers will be his nephews, Chester Holder, Lester Holder, Tommy Kemp, James Kemp, Wayne Orsborn, Eddie Holder.

His grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will continue Saturday until service time at the funeral home.

In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the doner's choice.
