CORINNE MASSEY Tupelo - Corinne M. Massey, 94, died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at her residence. She was born in the Ratliff Community, October 21, 1917, to H. C. Mitchell and Kittye Rogers Mitchell. She grew up in Plantersville and then moved to Tupelo after marrying her husband, Fred Eugene Massey on July 15, 1939. A graduate of Millsaps College she earned her bachelor's degree in biology then received her medical technologist degree in Boston. She then worked for the Infant and Children's Clinic for thirty years as a lab technician. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tupelo. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Curtis officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include one son, Dr. Mitch Massey and wife Lisa of Tupelo; four grandchildren, Marty Massey Brown (Chan) of Tupelo, Cooper Mitchell Massey (Kathy) of Charlotte, N. C., Adam Avery Massey (Mary Frances) of Tupelo and Jonathan Mitchell Massey of Memphis, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren, Paxton Walsh Brown, Carter Mitchell Brown, Chandler Stewart Brown and Molly Elizabeth Massey all of Tupelo. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, H. C. Mitchell, Jr. Pallbearers will be Guy Mitchell, III, Chad Brown, Roger Lowery, Buddy McCarty, Ken Murphree and Raiford Carter. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Sims. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. , Friday, June 15, 2012, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Tupelo, 412 W. Main Street, Tupelo 38804 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com
