Becker - Cora Lee Parker, 88, died Monday, January 26, 2009, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A Lee County native, she was born December 13, 1920 to Allen and Maggie Garrett Brock. She was married to Ellis Ray Parker who died October 26, 1986. She had lived most of her adult life in Bigbee and the last several years in Becker. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Her life revolved around raising her nine children and caring for them.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Rev. Doug Kennedy and Rev. Ricky Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include six daughters, Linda Parker of Becker, Brenda Beam and husband, Tommy, of Bigbee, Barbara Kennedy and husband, Doug, of Becker, Judy Hogue and husband, Billy, of Bigbee, Martha Kennedy and husband, Billy, of Becker, and Betty McNeese and husband, Anthony, of Smithville; one son, Jerry Parker and wife, Sandra, of Nettleton; one sister, Ann Parker of Pontotoc; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ellis Ray Parker; two sons, James and Larry Parker; and three sisters.
Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
Visitation will continue Wednesday until service time at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory.
