Clytie Kemp Melton

August 30, 1922 — July 13, 2010

Auburn - Clytie Kemp Melton, 87, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at The Meadows in Fulton after an extended illness. A Lee County native and longtime resident of Saltillo, she was born August 30, 1922 to Oliver and Margaret Johnson Orsborn. She worked for Mid-South Packers for many years and enjoyed working in her vegetable garden, growing flowers, and crocheting. She loved her family and the time she spent with them. She was a member of Kingsley Chapel Baptist Church.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Tim McMillan officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Virginia Anglin (Raymond) of Auburn Community; her two sons, Tommy Kemp of Tupelo and James Kemp (Pat) of Flowood; her sister, Thelma Holder of Auburn; two sisters-in-law, Martha Orsborn of Mooreville and Christine McCarver of Tupelo; four grandchildren, Rickey Anglin (Janie) of Baldwyn, Michael Anglin (Rebecca) of Auburn, Chris Kemp (Laci) of Kingsport, Tenn., and Karen Hall (David) of Flowood; and three great-grandchildren, Abigail Hall, Michael Paul Anglin II, and Matthew Anglin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband and father of her children, Lelon Kemp; her second husband, Bonds Allen; her third husband, James "Pa" Melton; two brothers, Loal Orsborn and Curtis Orsborn; a sister, Mandia Orsborn; a brother-in-law, Millard Holder; and her great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Hall.

Pallbearers will be Chester Holder, Lester Holder, Wayne Orsborn, Rickey Anglin, Chris Kemp, David Hall, Michael Anglin, and Mark Willcutt.

Visitation will be to 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
