C.H. ROWLAND
Tupelo - CLEVIS HOLLIS ROWLAND, 84, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born September 9, 1922, in the New Harmony Community in Union County, to the late Elzie and Fannie Mae Kitchens Rowland. He was a US army veteran, serving on the aircraft carrier, USS Intrepid in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a retired salesman. He enjoyed watching things grow. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He was married to Orion Elaine Rowland who preceded him in death December 24, 2002.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Horace Thomas and Rev. Gregg Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Rowland and wife, Frances of Shannon, Lynn Rowland and wife, Donnie, of Saltillo; one brother, Stanley Rowland; three grandchildren, Dennis Rowland and wife, Kristi, Christa Taylor and husband, Mike, Jason Rowland and wife, Tonya; four great-grandchildren, Megan Rowland, Josh Rowland, Cody Taylor and Chance Rowland.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.
