Claude W. Bouchillon

Claude Bouchillon, son of the late Frank and Loraine R. Bouchillon, born September 20, 1926 in Tupelo, MS passed away November 8, 2014 at Glendale Adventist Hospital in California. He was raised in Tupelo where he attended Lawhorn School through the 11th grade. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1944. He was a member of East Heights Baptist Church. The late Rev. J.I. Berryhill was his pastor. Claude worked at the Lyric Theatre in Tupelo before entering the United States Army during World War II. After returning home he worked for Tupelo Daily Journal. Later, he moved to Los Angeles, California to make his home while working for LA Times 25 years before retiring. He loved working on ancestory. He was a family historian, music collector and philanthropic. He gave generously to scholarships for students at Tupelo High School. He is survived by his sisters, Doris Parker of Plantersville and Irene Smith of Tupelo; his brother, Earl Bouchillon (Eugenia) of Navaire, FL; sister-in-law, Joanne Bouchillon and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thurman and James Bouchillon ; grandparents, CW and Hettie Duncan; Nephews, Bob Parker and Jon Bouchillon; and one aunt, Irene Carisle. Graveside services Were at Priceville cemetery Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
