Clarice Henderson

Tupelo—Clarice Henderson passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit, surrounded by her loving family. She was 84 years old. Born October 11, 1940, Clarice was the daughter of Roy and Ester Spencer Sullins. In 1960, she married BC Henderson and they enjoyed 34 years of marriage until his passing in 1994. She was a thoughtful and kind individual who was nurturing to a host of family members. Clarice adored children and over the years she often cared for them in her home so their parents could earn a living without worry or thought for their safety. Everyone knew their child was in good hands with Clarice. She treasured her family and made each grandchild, great-grandchild, niece or nephew feel special.

Clarice leaves behind two children, Jeannie Holt (Trent) of Tupelo and Ronnie Henderson of Kentucky; two step-children, Sandy Shelton of Tupelo and Pam Pace (Gary) of Saltillo; grandchildren, Melanie Harrison (Scottie), Bret Holt (Jessica), Tyler Holt (Lauren), Ashley Roberts (John), April Hurley (Grady), Jeff Pace (Lane), Lisa Williams (Mark), and Adam Whitley (Grey); great-grandchildren, Brodie, Lily, Endi, Judah, Athan, Sophie, Brock, Banna, Wyatt, Mikey, Everett, and Amelia; her brother, Ellis Sullins; and a sister-in-law, Dale Sullins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ester Sullins; her husband, BC; a brother, Ernie Sullins and twin great-granddaughters, Layla and Darbi.

Visitation will be 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Pegues, Tupelo.

Services honoring Clarice’s memory will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson Street Chapel with Rev. Randy Clark officiating. Burial will be in Chesterville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bret Holt, Tyler Holt, Brodie Holt, Jordan Ross, Jeff Pace, and Brock Harrison.
