SALTILLO - Clara Mae Hickman Henry, 79, died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born Oct. 14, 1926, in Mississippi to the late Mark and Susie Flanagan Hickman. She was raised in McNairy County, Tenn., but lived all her adult life in the same house near Saltillo. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Saltillo. She was the widow of Jessie Millard Henry, who preceded her in death June 2, 1985. She enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and her pet dog, Jacob.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Sammy Lansdell and Clyde Patton officiating. Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Cemetery in McNairy Co., Tenn.

Survivors include five daughters, Linda Ethridge, Patsy Henry, Wanda Henry, Peggy Irvan and husband Mike, and Debbie Thomas and husband, Eddie, all of Saltillo; four sons, Charlie Henry, Arlie Henry and wife, Gladys, Gerald "Yogi" Henry, and Jerry Henry and wife, Zina, all of Saltillo; two sisters, Ann Cox of Tupelo and Nancy Kennedy of Burnsville; one brother, Jimmy Hickman of Saltillo; special family members, Tina Christian and Sandy Wilson; 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Bonnie Henry Purvis; three sisters, Louise Cox, Jean Pitts and Mildred Whitaker; a brother, Coolidge Hickman; and three grandsons, Brandon, Kenneth and Harlin Henry.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Steven Wilson, John Wilson, Chris Wages, Jason Henry, Matthew Ethridge, Heath Roberts, Barry Ford and Jamie Eaton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Carr, Jimmy White and Nathan Henry.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home in Saltillo.
