CHRISTINE MOORE
Tupelo - Christine Franks Moore, 77, died Thursday, July 13, 2006, at her residence in Tupelo. An Itawamba Co. native, she was born November 30, 1928 to the late Elgar Lee and Sarah Elizabeth "Sally Sheffield Franks. In 1946 she graduated from high school and married Mitchell Moore. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed watching sports on television, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family. For over 50 years she had been a faithful member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Forrest Sheffield officiating. Entombment will be in Lee Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Mitchell Moore of Tupelo; two daughters, Judy Hershfelt and husband Don, of Tupelo, and Mitzi Dodds and husband, Gary, of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Tracey Long and husband, Chuck, of Amory, Susie Davis and husband, Nathan, of Missoula, MT, and Matt Perryman and wife, Laurie, of Atlanta, Ga; three great-grandchildren, Hannah, Abby, and Charlie Long, of Amory; two sisters, Zelda Walden of Ripley, and Sue Adams of Collierville, Tenn.; two brothers, Dr. Cecil Franks and wife, Estelle, of Tupelo, and Billy Franks of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dr. Houston Franks; and a sister, Erlene Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Long, Heath Hershfelt, Clay Cruse, Sammy Perryman, Jerry Long, and James Riley Hunter.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Harrisburg Baptist Church Building fund at 4675 Cliff Gookin Blvd. Tupelo, MS 38801.
