CHARLIE ROACH Tupelo - Charles Richard "Charlie" Roach, 54, died Monday, May 21, 2012, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. A Farmington native, he was born November 19, 1957 to Jesse Lee and Mary Jeanette Parker Roach and had lived over forty years in Tupelo. He was currently employed by I. H. Services at Cooper Tire. He had previously served as a volunteer fireman with the Plantersville Fire Department. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and was an avid Ole Miss fan. Fishing and camping were among his favorite hobbies. Also he enjoyed boating and taking care of his Grand Banks Cabin Cruiser He was a child at heart and if his body had been as young as his spirit, he would have lived forever. Services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Wexford Parmer officiating. Burial will be in Campbelltown Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Roach Harris of Tupelo and Kelsey Roach of Guntown; one son, James Michael Roach (Donna) of Shannon; his mother, Mary J. Roach of Saltillo; one sister, Goldie B. Dickey (Ralph) of Saltillo; one brother, Jesse Lee "Butch" Roach, Jr. (Pamela Renee) of Montgomery, Alabama; two grandaughters, A'lexus Roach and Zabien Roach; four grandsons, Santanna Roach, Jesse M. Roach, Zachery Roach and Lucas Roach. He was preceded in death by his father. Pallbearers will be George Wilson, Ralph Dickey, Jr., Chris Parker, Bob Davis, Lanny Roach, Kenneth Ray, G. M. Dutcher and Michael Seymore Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of I.H. Services at Cooper Tire. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the funeral home.
