Charles R. Warren

March 12, 1948 — October 1, 2024

Tupelo

Tupelo—Charles Robert Warren passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 surrounded by the family who lovingly adored him. He was 76 years old. A Tupelo native and lifelong resident, he was born March 12, 1948, the son of Robert and Reba Parker Warren. After his graduation from Tupelo High School, Charles attended Itawamba Junior College and went straight to work. On October 28, 1966 he married his best friend, Martha Finley, and they enjoyed 60 wonderful years together. For 30 years, Charles worked for Hancock Fabrics, retiring as the senior Vice President of Operations. Following his retirement, he spent the last 20 years working with his son, Bryan, in the insurance industry.

A man of deep abiding faith, he was a longtime member of Harrisburg Baptist Church and most recently attended Old Union Baptist Church. Because of his love for the Lord and the Gospel, Charles was compelled to share his faith with others through the ministry of the Gideons. His love for the Gideon ministry has taken him to churches all over America and into 44 countries.

After his love for God, next in line was Charles’ family. He cherished each moment spent with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passing down to the future generations his quiet wisdom, strong work ethic, and keen sense of humor. He could always be found at any event his grandchildren and great-grandchildren took part in.

In his earlier days he was an avid marathon runner. Retirement made time for simple pleasures like yard work, tinkering on his antique truck, Old Blue, and attending car shows. Charles left a big imprint on the world but remained humble and full of grace.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Finley Warren of Tupelo; two sons, Bryan Warren (Kim) of Pontotoc and Jason Warren (Hayley) of Tupelo; grandchildren, Dr. Caleb Warren (Shelby), Megan Canada (Bailey), Braxton Warren, Jack Warren, and Anne Reece Warren; and great-grandchildren, Amelia Warren, Finn Canada, and Ivy Warren.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Robert and Reba Belle Warren.

Visitation will be 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Pegues, Tupelo.
