CHARLES MILAM Saltillo - Charles Milam, 74, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born in Prentiss County on October 27, 1940, to Delton and Alice Pounders Milam. He was a graduate of Marietta High School and a veteran of the United States Army. Charles was a fireman for the City of Tupelo for seventeen years, owned C & M Fence for years and was well known as a hard working man. He was associated with Primerica, employed by the Daily Journal and N.M.M.C. His favorite time was the last years he spent with Tiffin Motor Homes, driving RV's to different states. He was a faithful member of Gloster Street church of Christ. Services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 19, 2014, at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister Chad Ramsey and Minister Windell Fikes officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Paul Crowe, Philip Crowe, Scott Milam, Tim Davis, Stephen Fikes and Ronnie Parker. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Martha Milam of Saltillo; one son, Tony Milam (Tina) of Tupelo; one daughter, Christel (friend, Steve Dilberian) of Tupelo; his grandchildren, Britney and Brooke Butler who lived with him and were like his own children, Scott Milam and Anna Margaret Milam two brothers, David Milam of Golden and Bobby Milam (Paula) of Fulton. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, J. C. Milam; grandparents, David & Margaret Milam, and Fred & Myrtle Pounders; and his in-laws, Clyde and Ruth Davis. Visitation will be 1- 3 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2014, at W. E. Pegues, Saltillo. A very special thank you to the employees of Tiffin Motor Homes, our church family at Gloster Street Church of Christ, and all our friends, who have shown so much love and caring to our family over the last year. Your kindness can never be repaid. Memorials may be made to Gloster Street Church of Christ Building Fund or Pinevale Children's Home.
