CHARLES LUKENS
Saltillo - Charles Lukens, 69, formerly of Mesa, Ariz., died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in St. Joseph, Mo., to Charles William Lukens and Anna Massing Lukens, who preceded him in death. He was a CPCU underwriting specialist for State Farm Insurance Company. He was a Catholic and attended St. James Catholic Church in Tupelo. He enjoyed woodworking, refinishing furniture, making stained glass windows and gardening.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Bert Harper officiating.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty Lukens of Saltillo; one daughter, Kim Richards of Chandler, Ariz.; one son, Kyle Lukens and wife, Jennifer, of Saltillo; four grandchildren, Ian Richards and Erik Richards, both of Mesa, Ariz., and Maddison Lukens and Chelsea Lukens, both of Saltillo; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike Peek and Pat Peek of Mena, Ark.
Visitation will be held after the memorial service.
