CHARLES W. JOHNSON Charles W. Johnson 82 died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the NMMC. He was born January 17, 1931, to Edgar Dow and Hattie Skinner Johnson. He spent most of his childhood in Itawamba County. He graduated from Mantachie High School and attended ICC. He served in the Navy during the Korean War conflict and after 37 years of faithful service he retired from Daybright. He became a Christian in 1960 and was a member of Gloster Street Church of Christ for 52 years. Services will be held Friday, March 8, 2-013, at 10 a.m. at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors, with ministers Chad Ramsey and Joe Connell officiating. Cason, Cale and David Pearce and Reed, Drew, and Dale Davis will serve as pallbearers. A private interment will follow at Lee Memorial Park in Verona. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patsy Stanford Johnson, his daughter, Lori Davis(Dale), his son- in-law, David Pearce, one sister, Mamie Bruff, one brother, Gordon Johnson(Shelby), five grandsons, Cason (Casey) and Cale (Katelyn) Pearce, Luke Rawson, Reed and Drew Davis, two granddaughters, Cori and Anna Lee Davis and a great granddaughter, Adalie Kate Falkner. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanie Pearce, three sisters, Jewel Walker, Bessie O'Callaghan, Melvie Bruff, and one brother, Morton Johnson. The family requests memorials be sent to Gloster Church of Christ Building Fund or a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
