CARTHY DERRICK
Tupelo - Carthy Presley Lee Derrick, 80, died Saturday, September 23, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka after a brief illness. A native and long time resident of the Richmond Community, she was born June 19, 1926 to the late John and Minnie Raper Presley. She was retired from ITT in Corinth. She enjoyed gardening, reading and loved spending time with her grandkids. She was a member of Richmond Pentecostal Church.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Russell Hamm and Bro. Jerry Keith officiating. Burial will be in Andrews Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, David Lee and wife, Martha, of Rienzi; two grandchildren, Mike Lee and wife, Jill, of Burnsville, and Jennifer Shumaker and husband, Buddy, of Corinth; two great-grandchildren, Trent and Savannah Lee of Burnsville; one sister, Donis Deaton and husband, Buford, of Richmond; and one brother, Truman Presley and wife, Bertha, of Nettleton; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, W.C. Lee Jr.; her second husband, Lester B. Derrick; one sister, Eula Mae Ellis; six brothers, Lois, Sherman, Jack, J.D., Fred, and Peford Presley.
Pallbearers will be Larry Deaton, Truman Allen Presley, Al Linley, Jonathan Mask, Joey Mask, and Travis Mask.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
