Guntown--Carole Lee Whitfield Baggett, age 78, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at her home in Guntown-- She was born December 19, 1945, in Grenada, the daughter of JD and Marie Herndon Whitfield. Carole was a Tupelo High School graduate. It was there she met the love of her life, Bobby Baggett, and they enjoyed 60 wonderful years of marriage. She retired from Southern Tire Mart where she worked as a bookkeeper. Carole loved being outdoors and enjoyed many camping and fishing trips with her family. She also had a keen sense of style and took excellent care in making her home a lovely yet comfortable setting. In her spare time, Carole enjoyed the relaxation that came from coloring. 

She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Bobby Baggett; her two daughters, Dena Baggett Gann (Matthew) and Dana Baggett Scates (Ron Inskeep); five grandchildren, Melissa Mathews, Jennifer Barron (Martin), Skyler Scates, Dustin Gann (Alex Buchanan), and CJ Gann; and three great-grandchildren, Victoria McGregory, Livi Kennedy, and Alex Hudson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Wanda Whitfield.

Carole’s family will celebrate her life with a time of visitation on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Pegues Funeral Directors in Saltillo.
