CAROL ELAM HELMS
TUPELOCarol Elam Helms, 55, died Sunday, January 8, 2006 at North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born November 4, 1950, to the late Grady and Willard Essary Elam in Corinth. She was a member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church and worked as a teachers assistant and daycare teacher for many years.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Bert Harper and Rev. Michael Tabor officiating. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Gilvo Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Brad Helms of Tupelo; one brother, Duram Elam and wife Dianne, of Tupelo; and one niece, Tonya Elam Watts, and husband, Brian; one great-nephew, Luke Watts, all of Grand Junction, CO.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Helms.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Fuqua, Gary Ozbirn, Ronnie VanBuskirk, Rev. Michael Tabor, Gary Tabor and Dale Tabor.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of "A hall at Beverly Health Care on Eason.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to West Jackson Street Baptist Church Building Fund at 1349 W. Jackson St., Tupelo, MS 38801.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
