CARL E. TACKETT
Sherman - Carl Easter Tackett, 86, died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. A Mooreville native, he was born April 4, 1920 to the late Clyde Rufus and Lillian Hill Tackett. He was a US Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He was He was a truck drive and retired from Purnell's Pride. He loved hunting, fishing, baseball, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Endville Baptist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Endville Baptist Church with Rev. Tracy Quillen officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dorothy "Dot" Tackett of Sherman; two daughters, Annette Rusoe and husband, Clinton, of Tupelo, and Donna Hehl and husband, Steve, of Elmore, Ohio; three granddaughters, Audrey Roellgen, Shelia Underwood, and Sandra Cobb; eight grandsons, Ryan Mitchell, Jeremy Mitchell, Thomas Horton, Eugene Horton, Carey Tackett, Keith Tackett, Brad Tackett, and Randy Rusoe.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Tackett; two sisters, Ruth McAnally and Eva Oswalt; and three brothers, Albert Tackett, Alvie Tackett, and Trannie Haynes.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Mitchell, Jeremy Mitchell, Steve Hehl, Larry Hern, Cary Tackett, and Thomas Horton.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the church.
