Mooreville - Carl Ray Foster, 82, died Sunday, January 31, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Bruce, he was born August 10, 1927, to Luke and Lona Caples Foster. He was a longtime resident of the Auburn Community. He was retired from Super Sagless where he worked 16 years as a truck driver . He enjoyed working with his horses and loved the special times he spent with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Lowell Johnson officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 42 years, Mary Sue Foster of the Auburn Community; three daughters, Nancy Guin, Carla Rodger (Bobby), all of Auburn, and Tina Floyd of Tupelo; two sisters, Faye Lott and Billie Robinson, both of Grenada; two brothers, Jimmy Foster (Rita) of Bruce and Aaron Foster (Linda) of Grenada; six grandchildren, Heather West, Christopher West, Tanner Langford, Dakota Rushing, and Justin Rodgers, all of Auburn, and Russ Floyd of Tupelo; two great-grandchildren, Dayton and Cody Ellis of Auburn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Loyd Foster and Fred Foster, and one sister, Lora Carpenter.
Pallbearers will be Terry Nichols, Scott Stroup, Mike Lott, Reggie Russell, Jonathan Stafford, Gary Long.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bruce Sisk, Jimmy Mann, Clennon Hester, Wayne Glass, and Gary Poe.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
