BROWNIE T. COBB
Tupelo - Brownie T. Cobb, 92, died Friday, July 14, 2006 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born September 13, 1913 to the late Charles A. and Olga Brown Taylor. She was married to John S. Cobb, June 12, 1931. For over 50 years, she was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church where she an active member of the Fidelas Sunday School Class. She was also a charter member of the Thursday Culture Club.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. David Langerfeld officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Long and husband, Jimmy, and Allayne LaValley and husband, Ken, all of Tupelo; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Cobb of Roswell, Ga.; nine grandchildren, James L. Long Jr. of Tupelo, Larry Thomas Long and wife, Suzanne, and Tony Long and wife, Julie, all of Saltillo, Ken LaValley Jr. and wife, Desiree, of Leesville, La., John Matthew LaValley and wife, Cindy, of Pearl City, Hawaii, Randal J. LaValley and wife, Bethany, of Bruce, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" LaValley of Starkville; Lisa C. Dobbs and husband, Scott, and Susan C. Frost, all of Atlanta; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, John Thomas Cobb; one grandson, Scott Long; three sisters, Elizabeth Riley, Lucy Manent, Charlene Wood; one brother, Henry Taylor and one great granddaughter, Christian LaVally.
Pallbearers will be Jim Long Jr., Larry Long, Ken LaValley Jr., John Matthew LaValley, Randal LaValley and Scott Dobbs.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Long, Cody Long and Joshua LaValley.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
