BROOKIE LANEY
Tupelo - BROOKIE LANEY, 92, died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at Green Houses At Traceway after an extended illness. A Baldwyn native, she was born July 12, 1914 to the late John T. and Maye Malone Wilson. She was the widow of Rev. John B. Laney, who served as Associational Missionary in six counties in Mississippi. Her life was spent assisting him in his ministry. She was very active in church work and taking care of her family. She was a member of Belden Baptist Church.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Jim Holcomb and Rev. Mike Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Ann Boland and husband, Rex, of Belden; three sons, John Thomas Laney of Tupelo, Paul Frederick Laney and wife, Sharon, of Greenville, and Robert Lamar Laney and wife, Margaret, of Oxford; ten grandchildren, John Laney Boland, of Blue Springs, Sgt. Doug Laney, serving in Iraq, Ricky Laney of Orlando Fla., Mike Laney of Greenville, Steve Boland of Louisville, Ky., Chuck Laney of Tupelo, Libby Wengryn of Atlanta, Linda Taylor of Tenn., Fonda Rowland of Greenville, and Suzanne Laney of Arkansas; 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Janie Powell and a nephew, Tommy Wilson, both of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffery Laney; two sisters, Inez Williams and Virginia Davitt; and a brother, T. J. Wilson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Shahbazim and nurses at the Leeper Green House.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
