BRO. C. A. LINDSEY Saltillo - Chalmos Arthur Lindsey, 85, died Friday, January 15, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of Booneville after an extended illness. A Tremont native, he was born September 25, 1930, to William and Manervie Parker Lindsey. C. A. graduated from Shannon High School after returning home from the US Air Force. He lived in Alexandria, Louisiana for a short while before moving to Saltillo where remained a resident for the rest of his life. He was a truck driver for Deaton Truck Line, later changed to Old Dimenion, from which he retired in 1992. He was a member of the Church of God and served as an ordained minister. C. A. was an enthusiastic vegetable gardener and actively worked in his flower gardens. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Pastors Matthew Parker and Chris Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Myrtle Lindsey of Saltillo; children, Mary Sain (Jerry) of Amory, Bobby Parker (Tina) and Billy Parker (Melissa) of Saltillo; ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Otis Faye Best and one grandson. Pallbearers will be Casey Parker, William Parker, Michael Young, Jeremy Parker, Jackie Upton and Nick Parker.
