Bridgette Newton

Saltillo- Bridgette Nicole Newton, 37, died unexpectedly Sunday, November 20, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center. She is the daughter of Deanna “Datchie” Ruby Guy Barnes, born on April 19, 1985. Bridgette graduated from Terry High School and currently was employed at Food Giant which brought her a lot of joy working with the public. She always held positions that put her face-to-face with others. Since moving to Saltillo, she has been a very active member of the community and has actively delivered home-cooked meals to the elderly.

Bridgette was a free spirit and always loved to look her best which was not defined by the current fashion trends. She was honest and never afraid to express her feelings. Although she could be very stubborn about what she wanted and she was fiercely independent. She was creative and created vibrant and interesting drawings. Bridgette was one of the most caring people with a radiant smile and a laugh that would brighten the room. She loved to cuddle up with a good book or watch an interesting documentary or memoir. Watching and reading about other peoples' lives stemmed from her caring and empathetic nature.

She leaves behind her soulmate and life love, Wes Avent, and her two fur babies, Nixon and Widget of Saltillo; two brothers, Clifton Newton and his wife, Erin of Petal, and Zac Luthultz of Byram; and aunts and uncles, Brenda M. Guy of Terry, Buddy Guy and his wife, Brenda of Terry, Jerry Hicks and his wife, Denise of Byram, Keith Guy of Richland, and Sonya Guy of Byram.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Datchie Barnes; and uncle, Bruce Guy.

A private family service will be held in Byram, Mississippi and a public service will be held in Saltillo, Mississippi at a later date.
