Mooreville - Brenda Loveless Phipps, 68, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. A Lee County native and lifelong resident, she was born October 9, 1941, to Robert D.and Mary Ruth McCarty Loveless. She graduated from Tupelo High School in 1960. She worked for the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal in advertising sales over 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and bird watching. She especially loved her grandkids and the time spent with them. She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. David Langerfeld and Father Tom Lalor officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, John S. Phipps of Mooreville; two sons, Spencer Phipps (Amy) of Tupelo, Matthew Phipps (Kelli) of Tupelo; five grandchildren, Drew, Weston, Colton, Karson, and Caden Phipps; one cousin, James H. Payne (Toni) of Olive Branch.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Beverly Carroll and Bridgett Newcomb; and one brother, Brian Loveless.
Her grandchildren will serve as Honorary Pallbearers, Drew Phipps, Weston Phipps, Colton Phipps, Karson Phipps, and Caden Phipps.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
