BRENDA D. MANGUM
Tupelo - Brenda D. Mangum, 58, died Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Dickson, Tenn., she was born November 17, 1947 to the late George Vernon and Eugenia Williams McGahey. She was a 1965 graduate of Hickman County High School in Centerville, Tenn. In 1985, she began her career with BancorpSouth, most recently working as Vault Manager at Building C of the BancorpSouth Campus. She and her husband, Gene, also lived in Pearl, Yazoo City and Grenada before moving to Tupelo in 1987. She enjoyed photography, especially taking pictures of her grandchildren. She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. David Langerfeld and Dr. Forrest Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Gene Mangum of Tupelo; two children, Calvin Mangum and wife, Camille, of Tupelo, and Cindy Mangum Crowell and husband, Brian, of Lubbock, Tex.; three grandchildren, Jake Mangum, Bryce and Madalyn Crowell; two sisters, Georgia Johnston and husband, Tom, of Shreveport, La., and Teresa Sheppard and husband, John, of Brandon; one brother, Wayne McGahey and wife, Brenda, of Brandon.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Larry Dean McGahey.
Pallbearers will be Martin McGahey, Jim Conwill, Colin Sheppard, David Smith, Curtis Tate, and Richard Vaughn.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 Wednesday at the funeral home.
