Braxton Carlock
Guntown- Jason Braxton Carlock, 22, succumbed to his injuries from a solo automobile accident, Friday, March 31, 2023. Braxton was beloved by everyone; he never met a stranger and had a heart of gold. Although he was a reliable and organized hard worker, he was also the “life to the party” who would light up a room as soon as he walked in. He was a true friend who supported his friends and family in the good and bad times and never expected anything in return.
The son of Tonya Boyd and Jason Carlock; Braxton was born May 24, 2000, in Tupelo. In 2019, he graduated from Saltillo High School, during his high school years, he was on the fishing team and a dedicated baseball manager. Following graduation, he worked for the City of Guntown’s Public Works. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hanging out with friends and family. He was a member of Ellistown Baptist Church.
Braxton leaves behind his parents, Tonya and Billie Boyd of Guntown, and Jason and Melinda Carlock of Baldwyn; sister, Brooke Carlock and her fiancé, Tyler Smith; brother, Bowen Carlock; stepsister, Julie Allen; stepbrothers, Wesley Brasel, and Quinten Boyd and his wife, Kaitlyn; nephew, Fisher Smith; grandparents, Jackie and Debbie Thrasher, Dennis “Greasy” Carlock, and Patty and David Brock; great-grandmother, Ruth Bradley; and best friends, Reid Conwill, and John Upthegrove.
Visitation will be 3 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023, and one hour prior to services Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Pegues, Saltillo.
Services honoring Braxton’s life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues with Rev. Mike Powell officiating. Private graveside services will follow at Euclatubba Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bowen Carlock, Reid Conwill, John “Johnny D.” Upthegrove, Lee Davis, Wayne Presley, Hayden White, and Zach White. Quinten Boyd will serve as the honorary pallbearer.
