BOBBY TAYLOR Mooreville - Bobby Taylor, 83, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice. He was born in Lee County on January 12, 1930, to Samuel Lavert "Happy" and Ruby Cole Taylor. A United States Army veteran, he served with the Signal Corp. A successful business man, in 1956, Bobby co-founded with Ed Dickerson, Rite-Way TV of Tupelo. After Ed's retirement, Bobby continued to operate Rite-Way with his wife Betty. In his earlier years, he enjoyed farming, boating and fishing. He was a long-time member of Mooreville United Methodist Church. A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Joe Lawson and Bro. Sammy Washburn officiating. Graveside services will follow at Mooreville United Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Betty Taylor of Mooreville; three children, Lisa Boehms (Henry) of Belden and John and Sam Taylor, both of Mooreville; five grandchildren, Andrew Peel of Nashville, Tennessee, Emily Peel Grace (Michael) of Meridian, John Charles Taylor, Jr. of Guntown and Corey and Madelyn Taylor, both of Mooreville; two sisters, Elizabeth Burk (Terry) of Pontotoc and Carolyn Dickerson (Michael) of the Auburn Community; one sister-in-law, Ruth Umfress of Tupelo. His pallbearers will be Andrew Peel, John Charles Taylor, Jr, Corey Taylor, Richard Boehms and Michael Grace. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in his honor to the Mooreville United Methodist Church Building Fund. The family would like to express to the North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice staff their deep appreciation and gratitude for the care given to Bobby and the family. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the funeral home.
