Bobby Nanney

TUPELO - Bobby Eugene Nanney, 77, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Itawamba County to Will Nanney and Ruby Willburn Nanney. He had been employed by the Natchez Trace Parkway for 39 years. He was a veteran of the Miss. National Guard and the U.S. Air Force. He was a graduate of Itawamba Junior College and was a member of the Auburn Baptist Church. He loved gardening, a special time with his wife.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Auburn Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob O'Neal, the Rev. Kermitt Brann and the Rev. David Singleton officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Moieze Nanney of Tupelo; one sister, Faye Wiginton and James of Prentiss; and two brothers, J.B. Nanney and Ann of Tupelo and Verel "Buster" Nanney of Fulton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Hoyle, Douglas, Todd and Rex Nanney; and one sister, Sedera Loden

Pallbearers will be Don Stennett, Ron Stennett, Gary Nanney, Gailord Loden, Terry Ramey, Jeff Ramey, Jim Willburn and Tommy Willburn.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Natchez Trace Parkway and his nephews, Steve Nanney, Billy Nanney, Jimmy Nanney, Gary Johnsey and Tracy Johnsey.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
