BOBBY LEROY MILLS, SR.
Tupelo/Aberdeen - Bobby Leroy Mills, Sr., 68, died Monday, April 3, 2006, at his daughters residence after an extended illness. A Lee County native, he was born June 13, 1937 to the late Luther Taylor and Lena Mae Vess Mills. He had been employed for many years as a plumber, crane operator, and welder and had worked for Jesco, Inc. Construction. He was retired from the Lee County landfill as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Sammy Raper officiating.
Survivors include three children, Larry Leroy Mills, of Tupelo, Sherry Lynn Hannah and Brenda Lee Mills and fiance, Gary Walter, all of Aberdeen; four sisters, Mary Frances Hasty of Nettleton, Ina Mae Kelley of Nettleton, Shirley Rae Faust of Mooreville, and Linda Sue Moore of Prescott, Ark.; three brothers, John Henry Mills of Vina, Ala., Ralph Allen Mills, of Sandersonville, and James Taylor Mills of Mooreville; six grandchildren, Daniel Lee Mills of Tupelo, Alisha Lynn Matthews and Melissa Matthews, both of California, Ernie Nowland, III, Brian Nowland and Jonathan Colvin, all of Columbus; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bobby Leroy Mills Jr.; and the mother of his chidlren, Betty Lynn Mills.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
