Bobby Lee Johnson

Pontotoc - Bobby Lee Johnson, 69, died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Nettleton, he was born October 29, 1940, to Arlie and Martha Calmes Johnson. He was retired from Richco Plastics in Harvard, Il. after more than 30 years of service. He moved back to Mississippi five years ago to be closer to family. He was an avid fisherman with approximately 3000 fishing reels. He also raised dogs. He loved all his animals, especially his own, Tink and Bud. He was a member of Cedar Grove United Pentecostal Church.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Terry Lee and Rev. Danny Robbins officiating.

Survivors include three children, Frank Johnson (Nancy) of Melrose Park, IL, Michelle Bolton (Bubba) of Ecru, and Bobby Johnson (Judy) of Pontotoc; one sister, Martha Dunlap of Pontotoc; his mother, Martha Booker; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his birth father who died when he was 5 months old, Arlie Lee Johnson; his father who raised him, Frank Booker, who died October 9, 2002; a granddaughter, Rhonda Humphrey, who died in 1987; a stepson, David Andrew Grinuck; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Calmes.

Pallbearers will be Shane Coker, Johnny Kelso, Tim Holcomb, Thomas Calmes, Freddy Calmes, Dale Meyer.

Visitation will be 12 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
