Bobby Jean Denman

Evergreen Community - Bobby Jean Denman, 85, died Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Oak Tree Manor Assisted Living in Amory. A life-long resident of Itawamba County, she was born June 15, 1932, to Ollie Lee and Chat Morris Ridings. On August 31, 1957, she married Glen K. "Buck" Denman, Jr. and together they owned and operated of the 78 Motel for 35 years. Bobby had a green thumb and could grow anything. She loved tending to her vegetable garden along with her husband so she could put vegetables in the freezer for family and friends to enjoy eating. She was also a fantastic cook and enjoyed embroidering and shopping. Bobby was a member of New Chapel United Methodist Church.



Survivors include one son, Glen E. "Bucky" Denman of the Saltillo area; her caregivers: niece, Brenda Robinson and her husband, Donald of Amory, Judy Chumney of the Evergreen Community and nephew, Robert Lee Kozlowitz and his wife, Betty of the Evergreen Community; one grandchild, Christine Feather Denman of South America; numerous nieces and nephews; and one close friend, George Robert Pettigrew.



She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and all of her brothers and sisters.



Services will be  3:30 p.m. Friday June 15, 2018 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Jim Manly officiating. Burial will be in New Chapel Cemetery.



Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until service time Friday June 15, 2018 at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo.



Pallbearers will be Bubba Bennett, Jeremy Loden, Sydney Kozlowitz, Jerry Harris, Cary Ridings and Donald Robinson.



Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Lee Kozlowitz, Wayne Ray and Larry Putt.



Memorials may be made to the New Chapel Cemetery Fund in C/O Lee. A. Wright 2331 New Chapel Rd Nettleton, MS 38858.
