Bobby Beasley
Tupelo- Bobby Scott Beasley passed away September 27, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born in Union County, Mississippi on July 6, 1934, to Ruben Thomas Beasley and Marie McClellan Beasley.
Bobby was a retired truck driver, having first driven for his father then Mid-South Packer, Super Sagless, and Wall Lake Door before retiring from Action Industries.
He took every opportunity to make a joke and he never met a stranger because once he met you by the end of the conversation he knew your name, where you lived, where you were born and your parents’ names. You would remember him after you met him. He loved telling about his travels and stories as a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy “Dot” Jean Beasley, a daughter, Debbie Sneed and her husband, Martin; grandsons, Shawn McMillian, and Kodi McMillian; great-grandsons, Nicholas McMillian, Michael McMillian, Easton McMillian; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth McMillian, and Piper McMillian; one great-great-grandson, Joseph Pierce; sisters-in-law, Larue Beasley, and Ann Beasley; several nephews, and nieces; and his special phone talking nephew, Jerry King.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ruben and Marie Beasley; his siblings, Thomas Beasley, Terry Beasley, Larry Beasley, and Dorothy Tate; mother-in-law, Ruth Bourdeaux; niece, Carolyn Allen; and nephew, Billy Beasley.
Pallbearers will be his nephews, Jerry King, Terry Beasley, Jason Beasley, Jimmy Beasley, Karl Beasley, and Scott Beasley. Honorary pallbearer is Kim Beasley Shelton.
Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Bro. David Bodehimer officiating. Graveside services will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park.
