BOBBIE S. WALKER

Tupelo - BOBBIE SUE WALKER, 75, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Hackleburg, Ala., she was born October 4, 1931 to the late Marvin A. and Loma Hall Cantrell. She was a 1949 graduate of Hackelburg High School. She worked for the American Red Cross. She worked for many years for Sears and Roebuck in T;upelo. She workied for twelve years with the Lee County Tax Collector's Office and retired in 1993. She had a large circle of friends and enjoyed playing cards, photography, travel, and sewing. She was devoted to her church, West Main Church of Christ, of which she was a longtime and faithful member. . She was married to Joe C. "Pete" Walker.

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the West Main Church of Christ with Minister Doug Greenway and Minister Charles Tharp officiating. Burial will be in Plantersville Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Joe C. Pete Walker of Tupelo; her daughter, Sonya Walker of Forest Parke, Ill.; two sons, Barry J. Walker and wife, Holly, of Tupelo, and Lt. Col. Jon W. Walker and wife, Melody, of Yokota, Japan; one sister, Bertha Jean Daniels and husband, J.L., of Hackleburg, Ala.; two brothers, Billy Hugh Cantrell and wife, Jimmie, of Hamilton, Ala., and Samuel A. Cantrell and wife, Kaye, of Russellville, Ala.; five grandchildren, Meredith Kelly Walker, and Mason B. Walker, both of Tupelo; Macon Walker, Joseph Walker and Mary Catherine Walker all of Yokota, Japan.

Pallbearers will be W.C. Hill III, Allen Welford, Ron Hickman, David Bridges, Ken Kellum, and Jimmy Oakes. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of West Main Church of Christ.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service time at the church.
