Bobbie Sue Russell

Fulton - Bobbie Sue Russell, 79, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at Phillips Personal Care Home after a sudden illness. A Lee County native and longtime resident, she was born August 30, 1930 to Joel Cleveland and Leona Barber Mabry. She was a retired employee of Hunter Saddler Manufacturing but was previously a longtime employee of Playcraft in Saltillo. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, growing her flowers and gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the widow of James M. Russell who died in June of 2001, and the last of her immediate family.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. Ken Anderson and Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery.

Survivors include her daughter, Jo Ann Marks (Howard) of Saltillo; her son, Ronnie Russell (Christy) of Mantachie; two grandchildren, Michelle Shidler (Joey) of Saltillo and Yvonne Hoard (Mike) of Booneville; one great-grandson, Connor Shidler of Saltillo; her caregivers, Edna and Dwight Phillips of Fulton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four sisters, Pauline Gould, Agnes Maybry, Dorothy Hicks and Faye Taylor.

Pallbearers will be Randy Taylor, Steve Brooks, Scotty Brooks, Carey Russell and Marc Russell.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
