Robert Bob Wayne Phillips, 73, died Monday, November 10, 2008, at the Greenville Hospital after an extended illness. He was born May 5, 1935, to Harvey and Jettie Kitchens Phillips. After graduating from Cedar Hill High School he proudly served his country as a United States Marine. He was a knowledgeable history buff and avid reader of western novels. His sense of humor and mischievous nature served him well in his many endeavors as a small business owner. He had a fond attachment for his little dog, Wayley Jo.
A memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues. Private burial will follow.
Survivors include his wife Janette Phillips of Pontotoc; two sisters, Billie Jo LaSalle of Texas and Betty Jane Mink of Baldwyn; two step-daughters, Regina Sisco and Jennifer McGee; five grandchildren, Destiny, Bubba, Kansas, Little Man, and Madison; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and beloved friends.
