Tupelo - Robert D. Bob Mosier, 72, died Thursday, April 24, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Columbus, Ohio native, he was born August 13, 1935 to the late Harry Charles and Ruth Blommindgale Mosier. He was a graduate of Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He was employed as an applications engineer with Emmerson Electric/Day Brite Lighting since 1974 and served as a member of the Illumination Society. He was a member of the Ohio State Alumni, The Delta Upsilon Alumni Fraternity and the Varsity O Alumni Association. He was also a member of the Toastmasters Club, The Tupelo Kennell Club and The American Boxer club which he served as treasurer for ten years and received his lifetime membership for serving more than 25 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 50 years, Sally Mosier of Tupelo; two sons, Jim Mosier of Tupelo and Starkville and Bill Mosier of Riverside, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be following the service Monday at the funeral home.
