Eggville- Billy W. Palmer, 78, died Friday, November 7, 2014, at Residence after an extended illness. He was born August 23, 1936 to the late Jasper and Ozie Palmer. He was a member of Eggville Freewill Baptist Church. He worked as an electrician and service technician for Loden's Butane. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He also loved his friends at Hardins Country Store. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Jefferson Street Chapel with Dr. Gerald Gann officiating. Burial will be in Eggville Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Berniece Norris Palmer; one son, Barry Palmer of Eggville; one daughter, Melanie Williams (Tony); one grandson, Cody Williams; one granddaughter, Kayla Ethridge (Erik); one great-granddaughter, Addyson Ethridge all of Eggville; five sisters, Lavern Butler of Shiloh, Bonita Hester of Mantachie, Lola Fielder of Auburn community, Prebaline Ratliff of Albuerque, NM, and Dorothy Page of Bastrop, TX; one sister-in-law, Mary Palmer; two brothers, Robert Palmer (Margie) of Eggville and Kenneth Palmer (Opal) of Mantachie. A host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Ozie Palmer, and two brothers, Corbet and Leroy Palmer. Pallbearers will be Ben Hardin, Todd Palmer, Lerland Kindt, Gary Byrd, Tim Brock, and Eddie Kindt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Hunt, Erik Ethridge, Cody Williams and Austin Lindsey. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 1073 Tupelo, MS 38802.
