BILLIE QUAY PLYLER
Tupelo - BILLIE QUAY PLYLER, 82, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at Baldwyn Nursing Facility after an extended illness. A Pontotoc County native, she was born February 21, 1925, to the late Lloyd and Olivia Advent Short. She had been a resident of the Mt. Vernon Community for the past 14 years and was a retired beautician and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and raising flowers. She was deeply loved by her family.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Mr. Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in Unity Cemetery near Belden.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Donald Plyler of Tupelo; her son, Jack Dillard and wife, Sandra, of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Scott Dillard and wife, Sheri, Sherry Flanagin and husband, Mike, all of Saltillo, and Stephen Dillard and wife, Melissa, of Tupelo; and seven great-grandchidlren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Ewing Dillard; a granddaughter, Jackye Haskin; a sister, Jewel Stephens, and six brothers, Van, Wayne, Earl, Jack, Leroy and Troy Short.
Pallbearers will be Scott Dillard, Stephen Dillard, Mike Flanagin, Cory Flanagin, A.J. Dillard, J.T. Stephens.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Saltillo funeral home.
