Billie B. Crider Tupelo - Billie Bickerstaff Crider went home to be with the Lord April 17, 2015, after an extended illness. She was born in Tupelo, Mississippi on July 17, 1927, to Clyde Bickerstaff and Maudie Merchant Bickerstaff. She was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Crider; newborn daughter; sister, Helen Richey and her husband, Mike Richey; her father, mother, and her step-mother, Josie Bickerstaff. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Edward L. Crider; son, Paul Crider and his wife, Vicki Crider; seven grandchildren, John Paul Crider, Patrick Crider, Rebekah Crider, Ethan McKenzie, Hayden Crider, Mason Crider, & Chloe Crider; & great-grandson, Aiden Crider; as well as her niece, Brenda Shetler (Joe); and nephew, Charles Richey (Jeannie); and numerous great-nieces and nephews. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren as their Itichee or Tichee and by her nieces and nephews and their children as Bibou. She was a long-time employee of Savings Oil Company and has remained a loved part of that family. Our Tichee endured hardships in this life but always remembered that Our Lord is faithful. She lived this verse from Romans 5: 3-4 - "and not only so, but we glory in tribulations also; knowing that tribulation worketh patience, and patience experience and experience, hope." She was a long time member of Tupelo Free Will Baptist Church. Services celebrating her life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues, with Rev. Wayne Bess officiating. A graveside service will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Monday, April, 20, 2015 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo and continued 12 until 2 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Tupelo-Lee Humane Society, 2400 S. Gloster St., Tupelo, MS 38801 or the Northeast Mississippi Alzheimer's Association, Mississippi Chapter, 196 Charmant Drive, Suite 4, Ridgeland, MS 39157, ([email protected]).
