BILLIE PORTER BAGGETT Tupelo - Billie "B.B." Porter Baggett, 86, died Friday, December 14, 2012, at The North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born March 28, 1926 in Memphis, Tennessee to Arthur Sanderson and Annie Spencer Porter. She was a graduate of Messick High School in Memphis, Tennessee. On July 21, 1946 she married the love of her life, Robert Aubrey Baggett, Sr. in Walnut, Mississippi. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Tupelo where she served as Church Clerk for some time. She served on the Parsonage Committee and was a medical secretary at the University of Mississippi Medical Center until she retired in 1988. She also worked as an office manager and secretary at R. A. Baggett & Co., the tile and marble business that her husband established in 1963. She especially loved spending time with her family and visiting with her friends, telling jokes and going to the Shepherd Center. She enjoyed playing the piano, attending the Christian Women's Club and was an avid reader. Her favorite places were the church and the library. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues, 535 West Jefferson Street, Tupelo, MS 38804. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include two sons, Robert "Rob" Aubrey Baggett, Jr. (Teresa) of Blythewood, South Carolina and Richard Ryan "Rick" Baggett (Leisa) of Pontotoc; five grandchildren, Laurie Baggett of Tupelo, Bryan Baggett of Lexington, South Carolina, Jade Chapman (Drew) of Pontotoc, Emily Baggett O'Sullivan (Cam) of Moore, South Carolina and Amanda Baggett of Pontotoc; two great-grandchildren, William Robert Lindley of Tupelo and Indee Leise Chapman of Pontotoc; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-one years, Robert Aubrey Baggett, Sr.; three brothers, A. S. "Buddy" Porter, Jr., Jack Porter and Leo Porter and the aunt who raised her, Hattie "Hixie" Downing Hix. Visitation will be 4 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the funeral home.
