Tupelo - Billie Jane Murphree, 77, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at her residence in Skyline. She was born in Toccopola on September 27, 1934 to Alford Frank and Sina Beatrice Montgomery Flemons. She was a Jonestown High School Graduate. Before moving to Skyline five months ago, she had lived in the Lake Enid area for more than nineteen years.
Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Ron Richardson officiating. A graveside service will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Memorial Gardens in Clarksdale.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Murphree (Debbie) of Alabaster, AL and Mark Murphree (Teresa) of Saltillo; one daughter, Gail Hester (Mike) of Tupelo; one grandson, Nate Hester; two step-grandchildren, Adam Haley (Cheryl) and Kim Brazil (Brandon).
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gene Murphree on September 4, 2008.
Pallbearers will be Nate Hester, Adam Haley, Brandon Benson and Ray Harmon.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to services on Sunday at the funeral home.
