Mooreville - Billy Wayne Wright, 70, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018 from an extended illness. He was born October 5, 1947 to James Edward Wright and Mary Christine Wright. As a teenager, he was saved and became a member of the Baptist church. In 1965, he graduated from Tupelo High School. On January 16, 1971, he married Brenda "Sue" Franks Wright at First Temple Baptist Church in Tupelo. Bill was the proud owner of Griffin Marine and Service Marine and co-owner of Hill's Marine. Before his retirement in 2011, he worked for Mississippi Marine. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid Mississippi State football fan. He was a member of the Shriners in Tupelo.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Wright of Mooreville; two children, Jason Wright and his wife Ruth of Tupelo and Candi Quartaro and her husband Brent of Saltillo; four grandchildren, Zoe Wright, Aiden Wright, Chandler Quartaro, and Will Quartaro; one brother, James Vance Wright and his wife Patsy of Rome, Georgia; two nephews, Ian Keith Wright of Haltom City, Texas and Todd Wright and his wife Sharon of Hemphill, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Tami Wright.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Payne Cemetery with Minister Leon Willis officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Brent Quartaro, Chandler Quartaro, Will Quartaro, Ian Wright, Todd Wright, and Mike Knight.

Honorary Pallbearers will be George Thompson and Aiden Wright.

Memorials may be made to Tupelo Lee Humane Society 2400 S Gloster St, Tupelo, MS 38801.
