TUPELO - Bill Towery, 74, died Friday, July 18, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center surrounded by loved ones--family and friends.He was born April 28, 1940, in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated from Dothan High School, Dothan, Alabama.Bill loved people, his work, and working with his hands. Although having retired from Malco Cinema after more than 30 years as manager, he still worked as assistant manager until recently.A self-proclaimed Disney Nut, Bill was a lifelong fan of all things Disney and loved nothing more than sharing his life experience in that vein with anyone who was interested.Bill was preceded in death by his father, Greely Arvil (GA) Towery; his mother, Lula Bell Ivy Towery; and brother, George Allen Towery.He is survived by a daughter, Laura Carolyn Towery McDonald; a son, Karl Norman Towery; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, all of Dothan, Alabama. Bill is also survived by a sister, Helen Mae Smith of West Point, Mississippi.Though deeply saddened by our loss, the community and Bill's large circle of friends celebrate the life and contributions made by this great man.Visitation will be at W.E. Pegues, Tupelo on Monday 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Pegues with interment at Lee Memorial Park in Verona.In lieu of flowers, Bill hoped any gifts would be contributions to Tails of Hope, P.O.
