Bill Mullins

TUPELO - William P. "Bill" Mullins, 51 , died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was born Nov. 8, 1955, to the late William Polk Mullins Sr. and Belle Knight Mullins. He grew up in Mantachie and graduated from Mantachie High School in 1973. He went on to obtain a BS in Nursing and graduated from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia in 1993. He was employed by North Mississippi Medical Center where he worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and CPR instructor for the anesthesia department. He was also working part-time at other various area hospitals. His past work experiences include Organ Donor Program Coordinator for this area, and anesthesia provider for Trace Regional Hospital in Houston.

He was active at West Jackson Street Baptist Church and Lifeway Community Church. He was also very involved in Faith Christian School in Guntown where he was serving as a board member. He was passionate about his work as a CRNA and loved his special time with his family. He also loved camping, traveling, boating, farming and attending sporting events.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at West Jackson Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Bert Harper officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years Tammy Mullins of Carr Vista; four sons Heath McClain Dulaney Mullins, Jared Bret Hayden Mullins, Emory Leith Jameson Mullins and Chauncey Leighton Brant Mullins all of the home; three sisters Betty Moore of Jonesboro, Ark., Cindy Bryant and husband, Bill, of Mantachie and Midge Davis and husband, Gene, of Louisville; one brother, Bob Mullins and wife, Debbie, of Fulton; his father- in- law and mother-in-law, Derril and Louise Rea of Tupelo; one sister-in-law, Tina Sample and husband, Charles, of Palmetto; one brother-in-law Jimmy Rea of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; special extended family, Mollie and Hack Dulaney; and brother-in-law, Jack Moore.

Pallbearers will be Francis White, Travis Moore, Shannon Tucker, Blake Hedrick, Chris Poe and Joe Fields. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders of Lifeway Community Church in Guntown-Ethan Nanney, Jimmy Haley, and Paul Stupka; the CRNA's and anesthesiologist of NMMC; and Faith Christian School Board Members.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Christian School, Hwy. 348, Guntown, MS 38849.

Visitation will be Monday from 1 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
