Beech Springs - Billy Billbo Chism, 67, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born May 17, 1942. He was an employee of Tupelo Muffler Mart for over 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and especially playing dominoes. He loved the special times spent at family gatherings, eating and sharing with each other. Most of all, he loved his God and was a member of Beech Springs Freewill Baptist Church.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Dennis Kizzire officiating. Burial will be in Mantachie Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Nancy Chism of the Beech Springs Community; three daughters, Ronda Smith (Dewayne) of Beech Springs, Tammy Cobb (Gary) of Texas and Nicole Turner of Saltillo; three sons, Randy Chism, Ronny Chism (Janice) and Tim Chism (Jan) all of Texas; a special grandson whom he had the pleasure to raise, Nieko Christoffersen of the home; four sisters, Jimmie Lou Hester (Clinton) of Shannon, Mary Alice Lyles (Kenneth) of Auburn Community, Patsy Washington (Wayne) and Peggy Hayes, all of Tupelo; one brother, James Chism (Frances) of Saltillo; ten grandchildren, Shelby Phillips of Saltillo and Dyland Herring of Baldwyn, plus eight other grandchildren who live in Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Roxie Anna Hood Chism; two brothers, Burt Chism and Noonan Chism; and one sister, Lula Bell Umfress.

Pallbearers will be Louis Cervantes, Tony Milam, Tracy Hodge, Dewayne Smith, Tim Chism and Ronnie Chism.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
