Tupelo Beulah Walker Thompson, 90, was called home to be with the Lord December 3, 2010, at the Leeper House in the Green House Community, after a lengthy illness. A native of Artesia, Mississippi, she was born May 7, 1920, to Henry and Ruby Walker. She was a beautician for several years on West main Street and Central Avenue. She enjoyed cross-stitching, ceramics, quilting, macram and telling a good joke. She was a good cook and always liked to try new recipes to share with her family and friends. She was truly a Christian lady that loved the lord and demonstrated it in every area of her life. She was a charter member of Harrisburg Baptist Church and a member of the Heights Club.
Services will be 3 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2010, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Forrest Sheffield and Rev. Don Cartwright officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherry Cartwright (Rev. Don Cartwright) of Denmark, TN; one son, Mel Thompson (Pam) of Tupelo; one sister, Juanita Abernathy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Melvin Thompson in 1990; one son, John Carroll; and one sister.
Visitation will be 2 4 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2010 at the funeral home.
