BETTYE ANN PARKER

Unity -- Bettye Ann Parker, 58, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Sledge, she was born March 8, 1949 to the late Edgar and Anna Sims Swan. She was a 1986 graduate of the Northeast Community College of Nursing and had worked in health care for nearly 30 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was the widow of Jessie Parker who preceded her in death April 23, 2004. She was a member of Barnes Crossing Baptist Church.

Services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will be in The Parker Family Cemetery in the Unity Community.

Survivors include two daughters, Kaye Flanagin and husband, Mackie, of the Unity Community, Ann Smith and husband, Ed, of Amory; two sons, John Parker and wife, Barbara, and Jessie Parker, all of Unity; one brother, Fred Swan of Tunica; six grandchildren, Mandy Flanagin, Morgan Parker, Savannah Parker, Jessica Smith, Page Smith, and Danielle Reynolds; two great-grandchildren, Jordan Flanagin and Elijah Smith.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, James Swan, Robert Swan, and Kenneth Swan; two sisters, Mattie Glover and Lena Mae Swan; and one granddaughter, Samantha Parker.

Pallbearers will be Kendall Tackett, Eddie Smith, Shane Yarbrough, Oscar Busby, Chris Dumas and John Curtiss Glover.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
